History
Corium commenced operation in 1979 and moved to its current location following the construction of the purpose built facility in 1985. Corium withdrew from processing hides and skins in 1995, returning in 2011.
Corium’s founder was responsible for much innovation in the hide and skin industry over two decades. Working closely with the CSIRO for a number of years, Corium improved salting processes and introducing short term preservation using refrigeration, contributing to vastly improved quality.
Experience
Corium’s is an industry leader in its knowledge and experience in maintaining quality. In the early 1980’s experimental processing in conjunction with the CSIRO was documented for varying outcomes and degrees of success. Optimal processing and handling procedures that originated from these early learning’s are still employed today.
